Driven Pheasant and Partridge in the Highlands of ScotlandThe partridge season begins 1st September and the pheasant season begins 1st October, both finish on 31st January. |
There are numerous pheasant and partridge shoots in Scotland, from the Borders around Kelso and Melrose, to the farmlands of Perthshire and the hills of the Inverness-shire and Ross-shire Highlands. Many offer days of shooting to paying guests and the sport is garnished with a friendly meet and greet on arrival, between drive refreshments, a hot lunch and at the end of the day, tea and cake, a game card and a brace of birds for your kitchen.

A team of guns is usual 8 strong, but teams of 6 to 10 are possible in some places and I often compose teams of individual guns or small groups of friends who are not already part of a a full team. Daily bags range from 100 to 500 birds and the close proximity of many estates one to another means I can offer several days of sport based on the same accommodation. Driven bird days can be combined with driven white hares, walked up woodcock shooting, walked up mixed shooting (often called rough shooting) and even hind stalking. |
Per bird prices vary from £29 to £35 per bird including vat. Bags of 100 to 500 birds are possible depending on species, time of year and the estate. Several back to back days are possible, sometimes on the same estate, but often on different estates each day. Contact me to discuss your requirements and have a look at Current Availability for days which are already planned and looking for more participants. |
